Summary

We Have an Exciting Opportunity to come and join the team at Bircham Newton as a Plant Operations Instructor.

The target salary for this role is £45,000 and it is part of the specialist Contributor grade( SC3) and you will need to attend Bircham Newton each day.

Role Accountabilities:

· Training to achieve course objectives, both practical and theory
· Ensuring that course material, equipment, training aids and documentation is available to meet the objectives of the courses.
· Updating and developing of course material, including training aids, lesson plans and timetables.
· Assessment of Trainees
· Safety and welfare of trainees at all times
· Working at all times to the course syllabus and programme to deliver the course objectives
· Complete and maintain all trainees' course reports, assessment forms, and other relevant documentation, as required by awarding bodies and NCC quality procedures
· Environmental responsibilities

Business Impact:

· Apprenticeship achievement and timeliness directly impact upon department performance.
· Individual support of apprentices, employers and colleges directly impacts inspection criteria which can impact reputation and revenue.

People Management/Team Leadership:

· No direct reports, but responsible for working with others.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

· Relevant experience in related industry
· Recognised apprenticeship and qualifications
· Good written and oral communication skills
· Sound knowledge of current industry practices.
· Possession of Assessment units would be advantageous but training will be provided if necessary
· Will be expected to achieve CTLLS Level 3 – Certificate in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector, or equivalent qualification

Communication/Relationships:

· Communicate to apprentices and family, employers, college staff on a wide range of issues including progress reviews, action planning, disciplinary, grievances and safeguarding.
· Communicate with employers on wide range of issues including progress reviews, agreeing action plans and related support for apprentices, disciplinary, grievances, and safeguarding issues.
· Communicate/Present to groups of apprentices during assessments, inductions and training.

Decision Making:

· Plan own work priorities.
· Identify improvements/innovations with delivery to be supported with involvement of relevant stakeholders

Change Management:

· The role requires a combination of own initiative and following policy and procedures.

Special Conditions/Other Requirements:

· Full UK driving licence
