Summary

We are looking for a motivated individual to come and spearhead our software development across multiple projects, such as our work with Health Data Research UK on federated analytics. This is a cornerstone of a new £70M investment in health data science in the UK.

You will participate in the health informatics community and seek to bring together leading software expertise, establishing a community of practice and working with other software teams such as the Digital Research Service.

The role will connect significantly to the Biomedical Research Centre and activities across the School and Faculty to build excellence and capabilities that lead to new international research opportunities.

We would expect the role holder to bring significant understanding of software engineering practices in research.

The post is offered on a full time (36.25 hours per week), fixed term contract until 31 March 2028. Job share arrangements may be considered.

Requests for secondment from internal candidates may be considered on the basis that prior agreement has been sought from both your current line manager and the manager of your substantive post, if you are already undertaking a secondment role.

Informal enquiries may be addressed to Philip Quinlan email Philip.quinlan@nottingham.ac.uk. Please note that applications sent directly to this email address will not be accepted.
