Location: Newcastle upon Tyne (NE15 Throckley)

I am looking to employ 2 Personal Assistants to work with my 9-year-old son, providing 2 to 1 support. He is a friendly boy who is continually active and loves being outside. He likes going to the park, loves swimming and long walks. He is non-verbal and has Autism, but he does understand. He has no sense of danger therefore requires constant supervision whilst active in the community. The main part of this role is to support and supervise my son when he wants to access the local community, as well as social interaction at home. I’m looking to introduce him to using the Metro, so it is important to keep him focussed, to avoid any distress which can be triggered in many ways.

Experience of working with Autistic children would be preferred.

An important part of your role will be to ensure his safety. He has no awareness of danger, so you must take extra care when you are out in the community. My son likes to be around happy enthusiastic people so you should be confident and outgoing. As the Personal Assistant you will collaborate with me and under my direction to meet my son’s needs.
