Summary

The remit of the Development Unit is to develop and strengthen the University's position at the forefront of teaching, learning and research by inspiring active participation, investment and loyalty to St Andrews. We do this through fundraising for key University priorities and developing mutually beneficial relations with over 70,000 alumni, friends, and benefactors worldwide.

The University is currently ranked as the top University in the UK by the Guardian University Guide 2024 and the Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2024. The Development Unit is at an exciting stage as we embark on a £300m fundraising campaign to support the delivery of the University’s ambitious Strategic Plan 2022-2027 under the leadership of the Principal and Vice Chancellor Professor Dame Sally Mapstone FRSE.

The Development Administrative Assistant (Events) plays a key role in the administration and coordination of all events and finance within the Development team.

We are seeking someone with the drive, determination and ability to conscientiously and meticulously support the team, facilitating planning a range of events to the highest standards. The right candidate will be educated to Higher / ‘A’ Level standard, have at least two years’ experience in an administrative or events planning role, and will possess excellent communication skills, be well organised, and inspired by their interaction with people.
