Summary


An exciting opportunity has arisen within the cardiology service, we are looking for two highly motivated nurses with extensive leadership experience who strive for excellence in clinical practice to join our team. The post holders will work in conjunction with each other to maintain a safe working environment for staff and promote excellence in patient experience.

Matron 8A

Cardiology Catheter labs, preassessment and elective day case areas.

This will include assessing staffing levels and addressing gaps, managing patient experience and patient flow to maintain high standards. The post holder will practice at an advanced level demonstrating a high level of autonomy and clinical decision-making. The post holder will take ultimate responsibility for the standard of the environment for their identified area of responsibility, ensuring patients’ needs are met and teams maintain cleanliness as defined by the National Standards of Healthcare Cleanliness (2021). The postholder will ensure that good infection control practice and high standards of nursing care are given. The post holder will be accessible and visible to staff and patients. Will ensure that patients are treated with respect & dignity.

. The post holder might be required to work across the trust at any time throughout the duration of his/her contract. This may entail travel and working at different hospital sites.

Matron 8A

Intervention and Electrophysiology inpatientareas 3AE, 3AW, 3D and 6D wards

The post holder will have overall accountability for the day-to-day management of the inpatient cardiology wards.

The post holder will practice at an advanced level demonstrating a high level of autonomy and clinical decision-making. They will work as a highly specialised member of the inter-professional team to ensure that the needs of the patients are met at all times and that staffing is at an appropriate level to meet patient needs.

The post holder will take ultimate responsibility for the standard of the environment.

The postholder will be responsible for monitoring the systems in place to measure and monitor the quality of care particularly using quality improvement methodology and monitor the systems that measure risk and be able to identify risk.
