Summary


The Elective Admission Lounge admits General Surgery, Thoracic, Breast, Plastics and Colorectal patients on the day of surgery. The Theatre Admission Lounge admits both inpatients and day case patients for Elective Orthopaedic surgery. Day case patients are discharged from TAL under a Nurse led discharge criteria.

Both units are on the City Campus.

The units are open Monday to Friday 07:00 - 18:00. You will be expected to contribute to both the 7am and 6pm finishes. Occasionally there is some voluntary additional work at the weekend.

Main duties include meeting and greeting patients, performing, assessing and documenting patient assessment information, including vital observations.

Assisting the admitting registered nurse in all aspects of the elective admission process for surgical patients.
