Summary
Responsibilities
• To undertake a lead role in ensuring the care and welfare of each young person in placement
• To give guidance and support to all support workers
• To assist the Proprietor for the supervision of designated staff
• To raise any concerns with the Proprietor as appropriate
• To support staff with key worker responsibilities
• To plan manage and lead shifts ensuring young people are kept safe and engaged throughout the day
• Ensure the support/placement plan for each young person is always followed and adhered to
• To ensure education is promoted, supported and that each young persons attendance in education is maintained.
• To ensure that all staff act in an appropriate manner
• To ensure that the homes policies and procedures are always adhered to
• To ensure all risk assessments are consistently and robustly applied.
• To ensure that all safeguarding concerns are reported to the safeguarding lead/ senior management immediately.
• To lead on managing the weekly/monthly staff rota
• To ensure all staff read the daily logs when they arrive on duty.
• To ensure that at the end of each shift staff have completed all the relevant paperwork.
• To attend meetings and training as required
• To raise any concerns in relation to staff performance and provide high quality induction and mentoring for all staff.
• Undertake any other reasonable tasks deemed required as directed by the senior management team.
Desirables
• At least 3 years experience working in a residential setting with young people with complex and challenging behaviour.
* Must have achieved QCF Diploma Apprenticeship Qualification (Level 5) in Children & Young People or should already possess an equivalent or be working towards the Qualification
• Current Driving Licence and access to a vehicle would be preferable
• Ability to supervise staff

• A good understanding of Ofsted Regulations and Quality Standards
• To be able to be flexible as and when required
• To be able to work some shift patterns as deemed necessary but only as required
• A can do attitude that supports the companies direction and growth
