This vacancy is for a personal assistant to join our client’s support package to support them in their own home. We will be your legal employer on behalf of the client and you will not be asked to support other clients. This is a permanent position with a 6 month probationary period and is for 39hrs per week, day shifts, which will include some weekend shifts on a rolling rota.

The pay rates are broken down as follows:
Monday to Friday: 09:00 - 21:00 @ £15.00
Monday to Friday: 21:00 - 09:00 @ £16.00
Saturday to Sunday: 09:00 - 21:00 @ £16.00
Saturday to Sunday: 21:00 - 09:00 @ £17.00

About the Client and Support Needed:

I have a committed and dynamic small care team and I am looking for additional care staff to join. I am an independent man in my early 30's who has Cerebral Palsy and I am a wheelchair user who needs assistance in all aspects of daily living. I have some complex health needs but this does not stop my zest for life and I enjoy going out during the day, for this reason you will need to be able to drive my vehicle.

As a member of my caring team, you will be responsible for a wide range of tasks that can vary by the day so an amount of flexibility is required. Some of the main duties will include:

- Administration of medication and regular stock-taking
- Moving and handling with a hoist
- Gastrostomy care
- Personal care
- Specialised techniques
- Assisting me in the community
- Administrative duties
- General housework

Training Provided Specific to this Client:

- Induction Training
- Safeguarding Adults
- Health and Safety
- First Aid
- Food Hygiene
- Administration of Medication via Gastrostomy PEG
- Pressure Area Care
- Moving and Handling with Hoist Transfer
- Gastrostomy Care
- Epilepsy

You will be trained to CQC standards to meet the needs of the client. If you are 'already known to the client' and have care experience, this will be valued. Unless specified elsewhere, previous care experience is not essential.

Essential Requirements Identified for this Role:

- You must have previous care experience and be a reliable team player, friendly, fun and dynamic
- You will need to drive as part of this role so it is essential you have a full, UK driving licence
- An enhanced DBS disclosure is required for this vacancy (expense to be met by HomeCareDirect)
- Prepared to commit to long term care for one client in a 'person-centred' way
- Willing to be trained to CQC standards to meet the client's needs
