Summary
Academic Appointments are currently working alongside a large successful special school in South West Bradford, West Yorkshire to appoint a pool of Special Educational Needs, Teaching Assistants.
The school was graded ‘Good’ in its last Ofsted inspection, with “A strong and shared safeguarding culture throughout the school, which is supported by designated leaders in each key stage”.
The school caters for over 300 pupils aged 11 - 16 years, with a range of Special Education Needs including Autism, Social emotional and Mental Health needs.
The right candidate will have a strong understanding and experience of working with students across “upper school”.
The ideal candidate will be willing and enthusiastic about making a difference to these children's lives and their education.
A successful candidate would have:
Experience in an educational/care/residential setting.
A passion for making a difference.
Background of working with students with challenging behaviour, autism spectrum and complex needs
Confident, caring, and assertive personality
What to expect:
Working in these settings requires patience, confidence, and a caring attitude as many of these students have difficult social, emotional, and mental health issues which need to be managed.
Your role will be to establish good working relationships with pupils to enable you to support them successfully. To assist with the development and implementation of individualised targets, planning and setting up classrooms/activities.
Requirements:
Available for employment, we offer short term and long-term placements which work around your availability.
