Summary
Responsible to: Supervisor Student Hub/head of Student Entitlement
Grade of post: £12.82 per hour
Hours of work: Variable hours throughout the year
Work location: Main college campuses
Job Purpose:
· To work in the College's Student Hubs to deliver effective and timely information, Advice and Guidance to prospective applicants to enable them to choose a course at College which matches their long term aspirations and abilities.
Key Responsibilities
1. Interview prospective students in person and by telephone, welcoming them to the college. Assess their current educational levels and experience and provide professional, impartial advice and guidance that matches their needs to suitable course requirements
2. Explain and interpret qualifications to ensure that prospective students understand their career pathways and all options available to them. Inform them of basic financial services available
3. Ensure that all relevant information is recorded on Ontrack/EBS system and collaborate with Student Hub Advisors to ensure that applicants are converted into enrolments
4. Understand and work with all of the colleges policies to inform and promote the strategies where relevant the applicant for example the maths and English strategy, the Work experience policy etc.
5. Support new staff by taking ‘Buddy’ role, sharing experience and knowledge. Partake in the quality assurance process to ensure that there is a consistently high level of service.
6. Use official government websites to analyse labour market information to advise applicants on the best career options for them. Present this information in a manner that different students with different abilities can understand their options
7. Develop a high level of knowledge of the College’s curriculum offer
8. Take a link role for several curriculum areas clarifying requirements and targets for those areas and disseminating to the whole Admissions team to ensure everyone is well informed
9. Support College and School events to promote the college curriculum offer
10. Promote the College and the curriculum offer to ensure that City of Wolverhampton College is the first choice for education in the Black Country
Other Duties and Responsibilities
· To carry out all duties in accordance with the College’s Health and Safety policies and procedures.
· To carry out any other duties as directed by your Line Manager.
