As the Senior ILS Engineer You will assist with the delivery of Supportability to a large Defence Contract, providing significant increase in survival for deployed UK Service Personnel. This is at the programme start and will permit the successful candidate to influence the design with the principles of ILS to increase the survivability for the UK Service Personnel deployed on operations.

Responsibilities will include:

  • To undertake the Supportability tasks in accordance with Def Stan 00-600 and customer Requirements, or any other recognised ILS standards
  • To author, develop and maintain ILS plans through to Customer acceptance and resulting implementation
  • To substantially influence the design to optimise it in order to reduce TLC and increase supportability, recommending alternatives where appropriate
  • To undertake Reliability and Maintainability (R&M) tasks in accordance with Def Stan 00-40 and customer requirements
  • To identify areas of the product design which could impact on the Reliability or Maintainability of that product and to recommend alternatives to ensure R&M targets are attainable
  • To populate the Logistic Support Analysis Record with the analysis carried out in accordance with Def Stan 00-600, ASD S3000L and customer specifications
  • To provide support to the Bid Team in the creation of ILS components for tender proposals on other Contracts within the programme

Please apply if you have most of the following:

  • Applied or technical knowledge and skills needed for effective performance in the role. i.e. commercial acumen, computer skills etc.
  • Experience of the application of ILS, Supportability and R&M techniques within a Defence industry setting is a highly desirable
  • Experience and understanding of Defence and Military standards is highly desirable
  • A high degree of familiarity with the MS Office package is required
  • Experience of ILS software (e.g. EAGLE, OPUS10, SIMLOX) is highly desirable
  • Good written and verbal skills combined with leading an engineering team is highly desirable
