Summary
Position - Vascular Surgeon
Location - Wollongong
Wollongong is a coastal city in Australia, south of Sydney along the Grand Pacific Drive. Surfing beaches and rock pools line the coastline. Trails encircle the forests and rocky cliffs of Mt. Keira in the Illawarra mountain range, which frames the city. To the north, hang gliders launch from Bald Hill. South lie the Buddhist temple of Nan Tien and Lake Illawarra, a large lagoon with boating and fishing facilities.
Primary Purpose:
The Vascular Surgeon will provide expert medical assessment and management of patients within the vascular surgery service in the Illawarra Shoalhaven Local health District (ISLHD)
The Vascular Surgeon is responsible for the provision on specialist vascular surgery services to emergency patients, inpatients, and outpatients at the relevant hospital.
The Vascular Surgeon will ensure provision of high quality vascular surgery services to all patients within the Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District.
The Vascular Surgeon will proactively:
- Support the development of vascular surgery services.
- Support and facilitate a culture of learning and best practice.
- Support and develop vascular surgery research within the department.
SELECTION CRITERIA
- Specialist registration or eligible for specialist registration as a Medical Practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (GRACS) in Vascular Surgery and/or equivalent specialist recognition.
