Summary


Barts Health is looking for a fixed term (12 months) Vascular Surgery x4 Fellow who will be predominantly based at the Royal London Hospital site with responsibilities across the Trust hospitals sites. This post has a start date of 01/10/2025.

The post would suit a Post CT2/Specialist registrar who has completed core surgical training, or at any stage of higher training, who wishes to continue to maintain and gain experience in vascular surgery. The successful applicant will participate in a separate vascular surgery rota with no general surgery commitment.

The successful candidate will be required to adhere to the Trust’s policy on Maintaining Medical Excellence and to be committed to maintaining their standard of performance by keeping their knowledge and skills up to date.

The post holders are also expected to partake in at least one audit project related to their subspecialty attachment.
Appointees will be expected to have completed foundation and core surgical training and have passed the MRCS (or equivalent) examination. At present, these posts do not carry deanery accreditation for the purposes of surgical training, though it is expected that they will provide training that will be of value to trainee surgeons.
The post holder must at all times carry out responsibilities and duties with due regard to the Trust’s Equal Opportunities Policy.
The post holder is expected to undertake the appropriate management responsibilities and be aware of individual responsibilities in accordance with the Trust’s Health and Safety policy and report as necessary, any untoward accident, incident or potentially hazardous environment. The post holder will promote and implement the Health and Safety Policy. The Trust operates a No Smoking Policy.
