Summary


Applications are invited for a Fixed Term Clinical Fellow post (full time) in Neonatal Medicine (ST 1-3 level) to gain tertiary medical neonatal experience based at Southmead Hospital to start as soon as possible after 6thMarch until 3rdSeptember 2024 with the possibility of extending for a further 6 months.

Southmead (16 Intensive/high dependency cots) is a tertiary medical Neonatal Unit and joint lead centre for the South West Neonatal Network (SWNN). Approximately 5,500 babies are born here each year. The Neonatal Unit provides a full range of Medical Intensive Care accepting tertiary medical referrals from SWNN as well as providing a tertiary service in Neonatal Neurology for the South West of England. There is a strong emphasis on teaching, research and evidence-based medicine.

This post is not recognised for training and does not have postgraduate deanery approval; however, the job is educationally sound.

The annual salary is £40,257 - £51,017. This post also attracts a supplement of the basic salary for working on the out of hours rota.

The post holder will be required to work a full shift system whilst at this hospital. Full Registration with the GMC is essential. Experience and familiarity with UK hospital systems and practices or equivalent is essential.
