Summary

There is an exciting opportunity to join the Advice, Admissions & Learning Centres Department at Exeter College, within the Learning Resource Centre (LRC) Team. The focus of the LRC Team is to create engaged, independent, life-long learners by developing essential skills. The LRC Team support the college by managing the helpdesks in our busy learning spaces, and facilitating the development and dissemination of learning resources that develop students study skills and digital skills, from research to revision with a focus on “How To Learn” to support different learning needs and styles.

They will be responsible for the management and development of the Digital Learning Resource Advisors (DLRAs) ensuring exceptional customer service, and the delivery of engaging, high-quality information, activities and events, to support the needs of the learners. They will be focused on providing successful service operation across different locations and will be expected to maximise both staff and technical resources to enhance the service provided to Learning Resource Centre customers. They will work with the LRC Manager to ensure both quality and equity of service delivery, whilst developing the LRC annual service offer in line with digital innovations. The culture and ethos of the post is directed towards the support of teaching and learning within both Further Education and Higher Education sectors and customers.

The successful candidate will have experience in managing and coordinating a team with variable schedules and a range of skillsets using their excellent planning, organisation, and communication skills. They will be able to confidently facilitate collaborative working using online platforms, to support the team working as a group from different locations.

They will be enthusiastic with a proactive approach and a desire to help students. They will have excellent communication, interpersonal skills to provide information, advice and guidance to learners and staff at Exeter College. They will have a high standard of presentation and a focus on detail to ensure that the LRCs are well-presented, safe and accessible.

They will be required to work flexibly including some evenings at college and events.
