Summary

Due to the resignation of the previous post holder an exciting opportunity has opened to be part of thee SEN Team at Cheshire West and Chester as Mediation and Tribunals Manager. The successful candidate must have experience of working within the Tribunal Framework and experience of managing mediation. The role will require the ability to attend hearings in person and experience in producing working documents and bundles for hearings is desirable.

We would like to appoint a candidate who has outstanding negotiating skills and someone who can develop a trusting professional relationship with parents and young people.
The successful candidate must have excellent communication skills in both written and verbal form and must have a clear understanding of SEN case law. While not essential it is desirable that candidates have experience of attending tribunal hearings.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the Coordination, allocation and attendance processes linked to mediation and resolution of all disputes relating to the SEND tribunal process. This will include the preparation of the LA’s case and ensuring the gathering of evidence to support this.

The successful candidate will be expected to work with parents and their advocates to come to a satisfactory conclusion for all parties, where agreement is not possible then it will be a requirement for the successful candidate to deliver the LA case at SENDIST First Tier Tribunal.

The successful candidate will need an understanding of the first tier tribunal process and will need to be experienced in producing working documents and bundles.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication and negotiation skills which will need to be employed when at mediation.
