Salary: £37,099 - £44,263 p.a. (Grade 7)

Applications are invited for the role of Postdoctoral Research Officer in Hydroclimatology. The post is within the School of Ocean Sciences, on a UKRI NERC-funded research project on ‘Greenland ice marginal lake evolution as a driver of ice sheet change - how important are rising lake temperatures?’.

Duties will include leading a modelling-focused work-package that will involve simulating the thermal response of ice-marginal lakes in Greenland under climate change.

Candidates should be educated to PhD level (or be very near completion) in a relevant subject e.g. Earth Sciences, Hydrology, Data Science, Limnology, Glaciology or related field and have experience working with large geospatial datasets from multiple sources and experience with programming languages such as Matlab/R/Python.

The successful candidate will be expected to commence as soon as possible, and the post is available for a duration of 2 years.

This role will be located on campus in the School of Ocean Sciences in Menai Bridge. Through our Dynamic Working framework, there will also be the option to spend some time working remotely (although remaining in the UK) to support work life balance, which will be discussed further with candidates at interview.
