Summary


This role presents an excellent chance to work alongside the Workforce Coordinator & Service Manager in supporting the efficient management of our Medical Workforce. This is a newly created role in which the potholder will assist the Workforce Co Ordinator with administration duties surrounding the Medical Rotas, using Health Roster to record sickness and annual leave with direction from the Workforce Co Ordinator and undertaking other duties as agreed..

The overall purpose of all posts in the Directorate is to contribute to the effective delivery of patient focused health care. Every member of staff is expected to be flexible in the way they work and to undertake any task or activities that they are competent to do. Full training will be provided where necessary.

Due to the nature of this role, the post holder is required to work hours across 5 days., Monday - Friday

To assist the Workforce Co Ordinator with administration surrounding the Workforce Rotas. Using Health Roster to record sickness and annual leave with direction from the Workforce Co Ordinator. Recording sickness and alerting the Workforce Co Ordinator so this can be recorded and actioned.

We have three main hospitals - Frimley Park in Frimley near Camberley, Heatherwood in Ascot and Wexham Park near Slough. This vacancy is at our tertiary site, the Parapet Breast Unit, in Windsor.

• Work with the Workforce Co-ordinator and liaise with lead clinicians to maintain a full shift working pattern in line with service and training needs. Assist with updating and ensuring doctors comply with working time directives and do not exceed total working hours allowed by policy.

Work with Workforce Co-ordinator and junior doctors to ensure appropriate level of service is provided to wards and outpatient department.

Communicate changes to rota and service to relevant parties.

Act as a backup/alternative to the central point of contact for consultants, non-career grade doctors, Specialist Registrars and Junior Doctors, providing advice and guidance regarding Trust policies relating to leave and mandatory training.

With direction from the Workforce Co-ordinator assist in managing the rota on a daily basis ensuring cover is provided in the event of sickness/absence. Communicating regarding re-deployment staff on a daily basis as necessary in line with working time directive.

Work with the Service Manager to ensure that the Outpatients Department, Theatres and other relevant departments are informed of Medical Staff absence and other leave, to ensure clinical commitments are reduced or cancelled as a last resort.

With direction from the Workforce Co-ordinator manage the allocation of annual and study leave, ensuring cover is available.

Participate in the induction of all medical staff when Workforce Co-ordinator is not available.

Work with the management team, waiting list team, and outpatient departments to ensure waiting times are achieved as best as possible.

Provide cross site cover for Workforce Co-ordinator whilst on leave and cross cover any assistant Workforce Co-ordinator on the opposite site.

Work with HR for new doctor inductions and new appointments.

Arrange inductions for new doctors and IT access and ensure all access is complete before starting.

Recording of sickness absence together with sending out appropriate paperwork to enable return to work interviews can be arranged.
