We've partnered with a Higher Education institution in London in their search for a new Recruitment & HR Operations Manager. This is an exciting opportunity for an HR professional to join this organisation as part of the Human Resources team, during a unique period of change and transformation.
The role is full-time, permanent, and is based 3 days onsite.
Your new role

Reporting directly to the Deputy HR Director for HR Services, the role holder will spearhead the Recruitment and HR Operations Teams, overseeing processes, policies and communications. They will also be tasked with executing strategies in this area to ensure the delivery of a positive and effective experience for all colleagues.
Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Direct the execution of, and establish plans and service benchmarks for, a thriving recruitment and operational HR function throughout the institution, with an emphasis on HR best practices, and a superior customer experience that enhances the reputation of the HR Department across the institution.
  • Guarantee that the recruitment strategy and policies are current and effectively implemented, including compliance with UKVI, and that they draw top-tier candidates and offer an outstanding customer experience for candidates and hiring managers.
  • Handle high-level recruitment campaigns, including the creation of assessments and interview questions, and supports the Recruitment Panel, providing the Chief Operations Officer and Director of People with timely data to aid in resourcing decisions.
  • Facilitate the implementation of efficient business partnering arrangements between the Colleges and Directorates and the HR Recruitment and Operations team by collaborating closely with HR & L&D Business Partners.
  • Supervise the data flow processes that support recruitment and HR operations reporting, ensuring that processes are in place to complete data management for new hires and employee changes on the e-Recruitment and HR Systems, to support accurate workforce reporting.
  • Lead project work, including planning and managing the development of the recruitment and HR operations policy, working with colleagues in HR, other departments/directorates, and managers to specify requirements, update policies, test reports and facilitate data cleansing as needed.
  • Provide advice on the analysis and interpretation of recruitment or operational data, contributing to the reporting to relevant committees and participating in working groups within Human Resources or on cross-institution projects.
  • Resolve escalated issues and proposes practical solutions to recruitment issues and data requests, working with managers across the institution, the Head of HR Services and other members of the People Services team to resolve issues and identify areas for service and policy development to meet medium-term resourcing objectives.
  • Recruit, induct and train new staff, managing, developing and motivating team members, ensuring effective working relationships within HR Services and with other People Services teams, and promoting a diverse and inclusive working environment.



What you'll need to succeed

  • A degree, postgraduate degree or professional qualification in Human Resources or a related field, or equivalent experience developed in a similar role.
  • Experience in overseeing recruitment campaigns from start to finish, including campaigns for high-level positions - providing guidance on recruitment policies and practices and creating suitable attraction and assessment strategies. Prior experience collaborating with Executive Search Agencies would be beneficial.Familiarity and experience in managing and supervising the execution of comprehensive operational HR processes to ensure a superior employee experience throughout the employee lifecycle.
    Experience in utilising reports to aid recruitment and workforce planning, either by creating and analysing reports to discern trends and patterns or by using people data to guide resourcing and workforce planning advice to HR and managers.
    Comprehension of equalities and data protection laws as they relate to recruitment and HR operations, with the capability to spot trends within diversity monitoring data and cultivate more inclusive working practices in recruitment and HR operations.
    Experience in formulating policies, processes, systems, and procedures to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of recruitment and HR operations delivery.
