Summary

Your new company
Our client is looking for an experienced Accounts Assistant to join their company, a building materials contractor based in Leicester.
Your new role
Under the direction of the management accountant, you will be in charge of handling the business's financial needs in compliance with its goals and vision. To ensure that goals are reached, you will collaborate closely with the operational teams of both companies. The position, which is primarily office-based, is located in Leicester.
As the Accounts Assistant, you'll provide essential administrative and bookkeeping support to the management accountant. You will be expected to provide support for the purchase and sales ledgers, maintaining accurate financial records resulting in smooth financial operations.The main responsibilities are:

  • General ledger postings
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Updating weekly cash actuals and assisting in cash forecasting
  • Balance sheet reconciliations
  • Sales and stock reporting
    Ad Hoc duties
  • · VAT returns
  • Credit Control
  • Posting of Purchase and Sales invoices


What you'll need to succeed
Qualifications: Qualified AAT or Part Qualified ACCA/CIMA or equivalent.

  • Previous experience in stock control or retail is preferred.
  • Self-starter with strong initiative and a work ethic.
  • Strong IT skills, including Excel, Exchequer, or similar systems.
  • Taking Responsibility: Acknowledging the significance of the company's standards for individual behaviour and acting accordingly; being accountable and responsible in the role.
  • Interpersonal and Team Skills: Establishing constructive and productive relationships with people from different backgrounds and business areas. This calls for cooperation, forging unity and consensus, empathy, valuing difference, and treating people with respect.
