Summary

Full or Part time Hours Available.

Do you aspire to make patient’s cancer care experience a better one? Do you have experience in Haematology?

The Haematology team offers a high-quality service for the diagnosis and treatment of a broad range of haematological disorders, utilising best practice in line with national guidelines

Due to on-going professional development and retirement we have a fantastic opportunity within the Haematology Clinical Nurse Specialist Team. We are seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic individual to work alongside our established Lymphoma team. The successful candidate will offer specialist support and care from the point of diagnosis and throughout the patients' treatment pathway.

You will ultimately be responsible for a designated caseload of patients and provide on-going care which will include participation in our nurse led clinic services, initially for those patients requiring blood product support.

All we ask is that you have post registration experience within the field of haematology, a genuine passion for the speciality and a desire to improve the patient experience.

This post offers the successful candidate an opportunity to develop pathways and services within the speciality and become a valuable resource in the teaching of junior members of staff and in the supervision of students.

There is an expectation that, after a period of training and assessment, you will be able to perform and support the nurse led bone marrow biopsy service.

We would encourage the successful candidate to undertake a Non-Medical Prescribing Course as part of their professional development, to support our nurse led clinics.

We can offer this post at a band 7 level, should you have the relevant post registration experience or alternatively at a band 6 .

We can offer the support of an experienced and dedicated haematology team and an opportunity to really make a difference to our patients. A comprehensive development package is available for the right candidate to progress to the next level of specialist nursing.

Those offered a band 6 appointment will be supported through a development package to ensure key competencies are met to progress to band 7 via a training package within 12-18 months of appointment.
