Summary

Marketing, Brand and Communications Create regular, engaging and diverse news stories about Birmingham Hospice for use in press releases, on the hospice website and social media channels. Liaise with colleagues, volunteers, patients and families to produce and publish case studies that dispel myths around hospice care. Support with delivery of the charitys communications plan including activity across internal and external channels. Work with marketing colleagues to plan and deliver campaigns such as Hospice Care Week, Dying Matters Awareness Week and Volunteers Week. Build strong relationships with external contacts including designers, printers, copywriters, local media outlets and PR agencies. Work with clinical colleagues to assist in promoting and marketing services to include the production of leaflets, event/training collateral, conference posters, video content and digital materials. Assist with the production of corporate publications such as annual reports, and award entries. Use approved key messages in all communications, ensuring appropriateness and consistency of language and terminology across all media. Ensure all marketing and promotional materials are branded, accurate, inclusive, appealing and of a high standard. Ensure that marketing materials are delivered on time and on budget. Deliver all work accurately ensuring materials are fully edited, proofread and signed off by the relevant department or project lead. Assist other colleagues with proofreading and editing documents, ensuring content is of a high standard and complies with house style, and provide advice and support where needed. Assist with the day-to-day running of the Marketing Team and provide support to the Head of Communications and Marketing, assisting at internal and external events, meetings and with other tasks as required. Brand and Digital Development Support the increase of followers and conversion rates in email marketing and on social media platforms through monitoring, learning and amending delivery to improve impact. Identify and implement new digital marketing opportunities. Proactively follow and research current and emerging media channels, seeking new opportunities for promotion and engagement. Keep up to date on best practice within the charity sector generally, but particularly with regards to communications innovation. Internal Communications Build collaborative relationships with departments across both hospice sites, and provide an effective copywriting, design and public relations service to the organisation. Work with corporate, clinical and medical colleagues to produce internal newsletters, emails and posters. Ensure the hospice brand is recognised on all internal leaflets, signage and promotional materials throughout the hospice estate. Expectations Work flexible hours including evenings and weekends when required. Ability to travel to external meetings. Work across both hospice sites. Undertake any other duties as may be required by the Head of Communications and Marketing and/or Income Generation Director.
