The sport and leisure team are looking to recruit a deputy centre manager at Queens Park Sports Centre on a fixed term basis for up to 12 months.

In a deputy centre manager we want a leader that drives the business forward in a role that requires you to be a real team player with a passion for customer service. This role involves overseeing all centre operations and member services, making sure everything runs safely and smoothly. Above all, you'll be leading the team and ensuring they are delivering exceptional service at all times, and the centre is meeting all its targets and KPI's.

The successful candidate must be customer focused with a passion for providing exceptional service. You must be driven and enthusiastic as well as being able to play an active role as part of a team. You will lead a team to deliver consistently exceptional standards, have a clear focus on continuous service improvement, be able to work effectively unsupervised, complete set tasks, and use your own initiative whilst having a can-do attitude.

The deputy centre manager will be self-motivated with the ability to manage and organise your own time and resources effectively ensuring deadlines are met, have a commercial mindset to hit budgets and targets, and be flexible to respond to programme changes as required. You must be a good communicator, have an understanding of the operation of Swimming Pool Plant, equipment, and machinery, have the ability to follow Chesterfield Borough Council’s policies and procedures, and ensure compliance with Health and Safety legislation.

The successful candidate must be qualified to NVQ Level 3 in Management, hold a current National Pool Lifeguard Award and Pool Plant Operators Certificate, as well as a current First Aid/First Aid at Work qualification. The post requires regular unsocial hours working including evenings, weekends, and Bank Holidays.
