Summary


We are looking for an experienced and innovative administrator to support the Adult Speech & Language Therapy team in service delivery and patient care.

We are looking for someone with the ability to work well on their own and as part of a team, and it is important that the post holder is able to adapt to changing demands, be accurate in inputting information and able to follow instructions.

You will also be expected to contribute to the induction of new or less experienced staff, providing training, feedback and support to others. Full training and support will be given.

The role will include, but not be limited to:
• administration tasks - including answering the phone and dealing with queries, making appointments, typing letters
• other office duties - including the administration of departmental meetings, taking and typing up of minutes

Excellent communication skills, the ability to work calmly under pressure and the ability to work alone and within a team are essential.

You will be the first point of contact for patients via the telephone so good customer service skills are essential . The administration team are a valued part of the smooth running of the department and support to the therapists.

This is a challenging role requiring excellent IT skills, to include knowledge of Microsoft Office: Word/Excel/Outlook. You will need to have excellent communication skills as you will be required to liaise with a wide range of professionals and patients. You must be effective in prioritising workloads with a flexible and patient-centred approach. You must have the proven ability to work independently using your own initiative as well as part of a team.

Previous experience of NHS systems would be advantageous but not essential as full, comprehensive training will be given.
