Summary


An exciting and unique opportunity has arisen for an experienced neonatal nurse to join our team as a Neonatal Ward Manager at Colchester part of East Suffolk and North East Essex Foundation Trust (ESNEFT).

A wonderful opportunity just over an hour outside of central London. This role is for 37.5 hours per week. Working flexibly Monday – Friday and 1 weekend shift per month.

Supported by the Neonatal Matron as ward manager of our local neonatal unit you will have the opportunity to improve quality of care for neonates and their families, lead and inspire a team.

The role of a Neonatal Ward Manager will enable you the opportunity to manage and develop nursing staff and services to provide professional and managerial leadership in the delivery of high quality, safe, cost effective care of babies, families and staff.

The individual must demonstrate our trust values and inspire and facilitate the development of staff by providing an open supportive and encouraging environment in which all staff feel valued and where best practice prospers.

You will act as a senior nurse within Children’s services supporting all areas on a bleep rota basis whilst also deputising in the absence of the Neonatal Matron.

The role will also require the individual to maintain clinical credibility and visibility. Shifts within the clinical and bleep holder rota will provide opportunities to ensure clinical skills are maintained and provide a varied experience to the post holder.



To effectively manage and develop nursing staff and services to provide professional and managerial leadership in the delivery of high quality, safe, cost effective care of babies, families and staff.

To inspire and facilitate the development of Neonatal Unit (NNU) staff by providing an open supportive and encouraging environment in which all staff feel valued and where best practice prospers.

Be part of Paediatric Services Management Team attending meetings, providing statistics and giving specialist advice as required.

Act as a senior nurse within Children’s Services supporting all areas on a bleep rota basis whilst also deputise in the absence of the Children’s services Matron.
