Summary


Are you looking for a Band 7 OT role specialising in acute stroke and neurology? We have an opportunity for a fixed 12-month post to cover maternity leave. This would be a great opportunity for someone who looking to step up into a senior position to expand their experience, or for someone looking to specialise in acute stroke + neurology inpatients.

We are looking for an individual who is highly motivated and flexible in their approach, and who is able to demonstrate excellent clinical leadership in the assessment and management of neurological patients. You will be joining a friendly, well-established integrated therapy team, working alongside experienced colleagues and supported by a Band 8a Clinical Specialist OT. The post will be based on the 24 bed Acute Stroke Unit, where you will be working alongside a supportive and forward-thinking multidisciplinary team.

You must be able to demonstrate strong evidence-based clinical knowledge and skills within the specialty of neurology, with a specialist interest in stroke. Person-centred care and an approach which promotes self-management are at the centre of our philosophy.

Together with the Clinical Specialist OT, you will be responsible for the day to day running of the inpatient stroke service and neurology team . This will involve:

- providing specialist assessment and intervention to a varied neurological caseload

- ensuring high quality patient-centred care

- leading and supervising the learning and development of the stroke therapy team

- providing training to the wider multidisciplinary team



The role plays a key part in supporting the service to sustain its SSNAP standards, working closely with other therapy specialties and stakeholders You will be involved in developing + implementing new Quality Improvement initiatives to enhance patient care + experience. The team has strong links across the North Central London stroke network including with local ESD, community and rehab services

The Therapies Team are passionate about developing and delivering a world class care service, and will provide training and development opportunities, including supervision and appraisal, to ensure you are supported in your role. There is a strong education ethos with an in-service training programme, supervision and opportunities to attend other in-house / external training relevant to the role. Applicants with a commitment to lifelong learning will be fully supported and given ample opportunity to take part in quality improvement ideas and finding ways to improve staff satisfaction and patient outcomes.
