Our dedication is to our customers and their pets, sitting at the heart of all our actions. As our new Data Engineer, you'll play
a pivotal role in driving positive outcomes for them by ensuring our data solutions deliver valuable insights and support
efficient operations.
Role Purpose:
You will be instrumental in crafting and managing our sophisticated data infrastructure, essential for our analytical and
operational needs. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include developing ETL pipelines, managing data lakes and warehouses, and
collaborating closely with stakeholders to convert complex data into actionable insights for our Data Scientists and Analysts.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and maintain end-to-end data solutions in collaboration with Data Analysts, Scientists, and Governance teams.
* Engage with SMEs and Product Owners to deeply understand business needs and translate these into robust data architectures.
* Enhance our data models and processes, ensuring scalability and sustainability.
* Champion automation and continuous improvement across our data platforms.
* Maintain the highest standards of data management and security, staying updated with the latest in technology and
methodologies.
Skills and Knowledge Required:
* Proficient in designing data solutions on Microsoft Azure, with strong programming skills in Python/PySpark and SQL.
* Experienced in ETL/ELT tools like SSIS and Azure Data Factory, and familiar with Big Data platforms such as Azure Synapse
Analytics and Databricks.
* Solid understanding of data warehousing, data lakes, and the various data processing architectures.
* Agile mindset with exceptional problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to challenges.
* Experience with CI / CD pipelines and best practices
Preferred Qualifications:
* Certifications like DP-203 or Databricks Data Engineer.
* Experience in building ML models and familiarity with the insurance sector is a plus.
