Summary

We are looking for an apprentice to join our team to provide reception and admin duties in our large busy practice. This will be a varied role within our reception team and the successful candidate will work towards gaining their Customer Service Practitioner Level 2 Standard qualification.

Duties will include:

- Answering the telephone and directing patients to the most appropriate service or
healthcare professional as appropriate
- Greeting patients on their arrival to appointments and helping with queries
- Booking, changing and cancelling appointments
- Filing
- Taking accurate information and passing this to the relevent healthcare
professional
- Undertaking a variety of administration duties to assist in the smooth running of
the practice
- Projecting a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in
person or via the telephone
- Receiving, assisting and directing patients in accessing the appropriate service or
healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way
- Facilitating effective communication between patients, members of the primary
healthcare team, secondary care and other associated healthcare agencies
- Computer data entry/data allocation and collation; processing and recording
information in accordance with practice procedures
- Providing clerical assistance to practice staff as required, including word/data
processing, filing, retrieving records, photocopying and scanning
- Providing the administration required regarding the practice's paper patient
medical records, GP2GP links, new patient registrations, deductions from the
patient list and electronic transfer of records with liaison with PCSE and NHS
England as required
- Maintaining and monitoring the practice appointment system
- Processing personal and telephone requests for appointments, visits and
telephone consultations and ensuring callers are directed to the appropriate
health care professional or management as appropriate
- Taking messages and passing on information
- Attending and participating in any practice meetings when required. These may
be on days you do not normally work, however you are expected to attend and
will be paid over time
- Other duties as requested
