Summary
This is an exciting role where the candidate will assist the Headteacher, Business Manager & Admin colleagues through receptionist & admin duties. The role objective is to deliver a positive & distinctive customer experience and provide a welcoming and professional image of the school to every pupil, parent, or visitor.

The role is customer facing and will provide ‘first impressions’ as you will be the first point of contact, delivering first class customer service as well as various administrative and IT tasks.
With professional support, you'll work towards your Level 2 Customer Service Apprenticeship in conjunction with our training provider SS&L. You will simultaneously gain exposure to the school’s front of house, business operations, administration, business dynamics and customer experience.
Typical tasks include:
• Provides a reception service for the school, taking messages and dealing with queries as appropriate.
• Answering the telephone, taking messages and passing on, welcomes parents and other visitors to the school and deals with general enquiries as appropriate.
• Provides administrative support to the Leading Practitioner for Staffing for the process of managing staff absence.
• Maintains the school diary i.e. staff meetings, INSET days, Holidays, SMG meetings, Head/Deputy meetings
• To provide administrative support for events during the school year (e.g. Open evening / presentation evening / larger meetings/ training sessions / opening of new areas of the school)
Please note that this is not an exhaustive list of duties or requirements. The receptionist / administrative assistant may be required to perform additional tasks as needed.
This role may be closed early if a sufficient number of applications are received.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
- Customer Service Practitioner Level 2 apprenticeship standard
- Functional Skills in English and maths if required
- End Point Assessment:
Presentation; Practical Observation; Professional Discussion
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
- Following a successful completion of the Level 2 apprenticeship, there may be an
opportunity for a permanent role within Fiveways. We would also consider the
opportunity for progression onto a Level 3 apprenticeship.
