Summary
Personal Assistant required for a happy and lively 15 year-old boy who lives in St Blazey.
He has anxiety and low confidence, and he would like someone he can build a relationship with, provide him with some 1:1 support and join him for sports and fitness activities and getting out and about.
A personal assistant would allow him to engage in activities with a trusted adult, outside of his school and family life. He would like someone to support him with his communication with being able to talk with someone outside the home. He is interested in health and fitness. He likes playing golf and computer games. He likes the cinema, bowling, music and eating out.
A personal assistant will enable him to enjoy activities in his local community.
5 hours per week are available, although this is very flexible. Some weekend and school holiday availability will be required.
Some knowledge or personal experience of working with young people with special education needs is essential. He has to carry an emergency injection for which training can be given.
The successful applicant will be employed under a private arrangement with the family.
