Site Purchasing Coordinator Fixed Term Contract, Full Time (37.5 hours per week) Greenock, PA15 2AR

Serco are recruiting for a Site Purchasing Coordinator to support the Marine Technical Services team, on a 6-month Fixed Term Contract, in Greenock.
Reporting to the Technical Manager, Scotland, the key purpose of this role is to transact the purchasing function for the FPMS Contract, from initial requisition through to final goods receipt, in alignment with Company Procurement policy.

You will sufficiently support the contract need for local purchasing expertise and resource, as well as offering occasional support to other contract locations.

Main Accountabilities:


- The processing of goods and services purchasing workflows, from requisition through RFQ, required approvals, to Purchase Orders utilising the AMOS purchasing and SAP finance platforms.
- Feedback transaction status to requisitioners through AMOS purchasing system. Monitor purchase delivery for overdue goods to expedite orders and capture supplier non-performances.
- Where appropriate, purchase goods / services using P Card in alignment with usage policy
- Taking guidance from the Port Technical team and the requisition originators, source goods / services and submit RFQ’s to approved Suppliers based on specifications provided.
- Conduct spot negotiations with Suppliers as necessary, to obtain best value for price and delivery terms.
- Support the on-time delivery of goods and services through building effective working relationships with suppliers and stakeholders.
- On receipt of confirmation from order originators, GRN orders in SAP ECC, reporting on open orders as required.
- Monitor and close aged open orders. Reconciliation and closing of part receipted orders.
- Collaborate and communicate with Contract purchasing team to promote best practice and leverage best value from Suppliers.


What you’ll need to do the role:


- Previous experience in purchasing systems & processes.
- Good level of formal education – Good numeracy and communication skills.
- Competency in MS Office suite.
- Procurement experience within an Engineering environment (ideally Marine Engineering).
- Has experience of conducting successful negotiations.
- Understanding of internal stakeholders needs and Customer contract delivery drivers.
- Self-motivated team player, with a flexible attitude.
- Commercial awareness and acumen.
- Good emotional intelligence.


Additional features of the role:


- Experience with SAP and AMOS purchasing is desirable; however training will be provided to the successful candidate.
- An understanding of internal stakeholders needs and Customer contract delivery drivers
- Building of collaborative and supportive relationships across the Contract
