TeacherActive is actively recruiting for a SEND Academy that is looking for an experienced Behavioural Support Teaching Assistant to join them on a full-time and ongoing basis!
The school provides support for students aged between 5-16 years who have been diagnosed with SEMH needs (Social, Emotional and Mental Health). You will be able to engage pupils that have become disengaged from Education and encourage and offer them support and guidance, on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
Your role will be supporting the pupils, by establishing strong relationships, acting as a role model, attending to all pupil's needs, supervising and ensuring safety. You will work closely with the teacher to ensure the academic and personal growth of children throughout the school day.
This multifaceted position encompasses various responsibilities, such as:
• Setting up the classroom for lessons
• Assisting students with reading and comprehension
• Providing additional support to those who require it
• Preparing educational materials and resources
• Maintaining accurate records of student progress and activities
• Taking initiative in organizing and leading specific activities and sessions to enhance learning opportunities
