Summary
To hear appeals from service users detained under the Mental Health Act 1983 in Black Country Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust To hear reviews of service users detained under the Mental Health Act 1983, whose detention is due for renewal/extension under the provisions of the Act. To maintain absolute confidentiality with regard to information gleaned during the course of the role. To attend training and the regular AHM forum meetings as required regarding the provisions of the Mental Health Act 1983 and the Appeal/Review process and additional training as identified by the Mental Health Legislation Committee. To make judgements based upon written and oral evidence and to be able to convey these judgements appropriately to service users and/or carers.
