Summary


Become a Complex Care Night Worker and make a difference to someone’s life

We are looking for enthusiastic care staff in the Portsmouth area who would like the opportunity to develop their skills and work with our more complex paediatric clients. This will require dedication and reliability to complete our award winning bespoke online training, and field bases practical theory assessments, with the support of our clinical lead nurses.

Our complex care clients require bespoke care to meet their individual needs and this requires commitment and hard working care staff who are willing to go the extra mile to complete the in-depth training and mentoring to gain the knowledge needed.

You will be expected to complete some of the following training and competency assessments depending on the client you will be working with.

Medication Administration

E-Learning training session, followed by a theory discussion and practical demonstration under the direct supervision of either a Care Associate or Clinical Lead Nurse. Being familiar with the Newcross Medication Administration Policy will be mandatory.

Tracheostomy Care and Management

E-Learning training session, on line interactive training session with a Clinical Lead Nurse, followed by in depth theory discussion around the care and management of a tracheostomy tube as well as emergency response. Finally a practical session on the tracheostomy Mankin doll and a minimum of two practical tracheostomy tube changes.

Invasive Ventilation

Client Specific theory discussion around the rationale for use, understanding of pre-programmed settings/pressures, understanding and response to alarms and connecting/disconnecting to client and a minimum of two practical demonstrations under the direct supervision of Clinical Lead Nurse

Non Invasive Ventilation

Client Specific theory discussion around the rationale for use, understanding of pre-programmed settings/pressures, understanding and response to alarms and connecting/disconnecting to client and a minimum of one practical demonstrations under the direct supervision of Clinical Lead Nurse

Enteral Feeding

E-Learning training session, followed by a client specific theory discussion and a minimum of two practical demonstrations under the direct supervision of either a Care Associate or Clinical Lead Nurse.

Nebuliser Treatment

Client Specific theory discussion around the rationale and indications for nebuliser treatment and a minimum of one practical demonstration under the direct supervision of either a Care Associate or Clinical Lead Nurse.

Oral Suctioning

Client Specific theory discussion around the rationale/indications for and contraindications/implications of oral suctioning and a minimum of one practical demonstration under the direct supervision of either a Care Associate or Clinical Lead Nurse

Nasopharyngeal Suctioning

Client specific theory discussion around the rationale/indications for and the contraindications/implications of Nasopharyngeal suctioning and a minimum of two practical demonstrations under the direct Supervision of a Clinical Lead Nurse

Pulse Oximetry and Oxygen Therapy

Client Specific theory discussion around the rationale for Saturation monitoring and Oxygen Administration and a minimum of one practical demonstration under the direct supervision of either a Care Associate or Clinical Lead Nurse.

Seizure Awareness

E-learning training session, followed by a client specific discussion around seizure awareness, Emergency Management and response with either a Care Associate or Clinical Lead Nurse

The above training will be available via E-Learning sessions, followed by a clinical discussion and practical demonstrations under the direct supervision of a Care Associate or Clinical Lead Nurse

In this role you will be working with a pediatric service user 2-3 nights per week, earning up to £19.81 per hour.

Newcross are able to provide 24/7 support for our community care staff through the Community Care hub, so help and advice are always on hand. Currently we are looking for staff to join our team to work waking nights. These require staff who are able to remain vigilant and responsive, using the clinical skills we will support you to gain during your training period.
