Summary


Saint Mary’s Managed Clinical Service is the largest maternity service in the country providing care for women across Manchester, its surrounding areas and the North West. Saint Mary's is a well-known centre of excellence across three sites including Saint Mary’s Oxford Road Campus, Saint Mary’s Wythenshawe and Saint Mary's North Manchester, all with a vibrant and lively working atmosphere.

This is an opportunity to join the Maternity Services Governance Team as the Matron for Clinical Governance. We are looking for a senior midwife with clinical governance experience who can support our ambitions to drive improvements and ensure we provide safe and effective care that meets the needs of all families receiving care across our Managed Clinical Service.

The Matron For Clinical Governance will support the Maternity Governance Teams on the three sites requiring working on each site and occasional travel between sites. The post holder will join the senior midwifery on call rota to provide support to the clinical teams out of hours.

The post holder will provide clinical and professional leadership and line management to the Clinical Governance Teams across Saint Mary’s Managed Clinical Service.Reporting to the Lead Midwife for Governance they will ensure that the key functions of the Matron are undertaken within the Division.

The Matron for Clinical Governance will demonstrate effective leadership, setting, monitoring and maintaining professional standards, working collaboratively to set standards to manage the Clinical Governance framework leading the midwifery contribution at a hospital level in line with the Nursing and Midwifery Strategy values and behaviours.
