Summary
*Expert clinical practitioner within own clinical area. *Assesses, develops, implements and evaluates programmes of care *Monitors and ensures maintenance of standards of care *Monitors and ensures high quality of care for women and their family *Supervises and develops staff *Participates in research and audit *Undertake the full role of the midwife including advanced decision making, using evidence based practice and highly developed advanced practice skills *Directly refer maternity users for medical investigations and for review to other health care professionals, as agreed by the lead consultant obstetrician
