An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly experienced, motivated and innovative therapist to join the service in the role of Principal Speech and Language Therapist, Autism and Social Communication difficulties.

You will be part of a large and supportive team comprising of Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, therapy assistants and a well resourced admin team, delivering services to children and young people within the Royal Borough of Greenwich (RBG).

You will have responsibilities, alongside the Service Leads, Principal Therapists and Highly Specialist Therapists, in providing leadership within the team. You will provide clinical expertise to the team in the clinical area of Autism and Social Communication difficulties and have the opportunity to shape service delivery alongside colleagues from the CYP Directorate.

The post holder will provide highly specialist assessment, diagnosis and intervention to children and young peoplewith Speech, Language and Communication difficulties, supporting parents, clients and other professionals in all issues related to client management.

You will provide leadership and clinical expertise within the service, in the area of Autism/Social Communication difficulties.

You will lead a team of speech and language therapists including providing supervision, appraisal, competency development and training.

You will provide highly specialist second opinions to other speech and language therapists /external professionals and support in the training and development of therapists in the team.

You will contribute to the multi-disciplinary diagnostic assessments as part of the Greenwich Integrated Neurodevelopment (IND) Team.

You will lead on developments in service provision for children and young people with Autism including in the development of policies and procedures relating to clinical care, evidence-based practice, care pathways and outcome development.

You will contribute to Trust, service and professional wide initiatives.
