Summary

Join Our Apprenticeship Programme and Shape Your Future

Embark on a journey with us through our Apprenticeship programme, where we prioritise your growth and success beyond the training period. We are committed to equipping you with lifelong skills in a supportive and encouraging work environment, ensuring your career aspirations become a reality.

What Does a Land-Based Engineer Do?

As a Land-Based Engineer, you will engage in a diverse array of tasks involving machinery, plant, and equipment. Unlike marine or aviation equipment, this role focuses specifically on land-based machinery.

Your Three-Year Apprenticeship Journey:

  • Year 1: Begin with foundational tasks such as machinery inspections, guided by your line manager. You'll spend 16 weeks at Myerscough College in the north-west of England for block release sessions, with travel and accommodation expenses covered.
  • Year 2: Expand your skills by diagnosing faults and performing repairs and maintenance on plant machinery. Another 10-week stint at college awaits, requiring temporary relocation.
  • Year 3: Take on increased responsibilities, including advising on machinery repairs for customers and diagnosing complex faults. Again, you'll spend 10 weeks at college, away from home.

Unlock Your Career Potential:

We offer a competitive starting salary of £15,000 in the first year, increasing to approximately £25,000 upon qualification. You'll receive on-the-job training alongside a college education leading to a nationally recognised “Land-Based Engineer – Technical Level 3” qualification. Successful completion of the apprenticeship scheme also guarantees a permanent position at Vp plc.

Are You the Right Fit?

Minimum qualifications include Grade 4 in GCSE Maths and English Language (or Grade 5 or above in Scottish Highers), along with strong communication skills, teamwork abilities, any relevant work experience, and a genuine interest in engineering and/or equipment maintenance. Completing our application form thoughtfully, showcasing your personality and interest in our programme, is essential.

Join Our Dynamic Team:

This is a fantastic opportunity to join our dedicated and expanding team, where you'll play a crucial role in delivering top-quality hire equipment to exceed customer expectations. With exciting growth prospects and a commitment to superior customer service in the construction and housebuilding industries, we invite you to build your future alongside us as Vp plc continues to evolve and thrive.
