Summary

ARC are recruiting on behalf of our M&E client for Mechanical Installation Engineer to join their Service and Contracts Division.

Job Title: Mechanical Installation Engineer

Location: Ipswich

Rate: £45000 per annum

Schedule: Monday to Friday. Overtime

Mechanical engineering: 2 years (preferred)

Job Brief outline: Fabrication, Installation and Maintenance to Pumping Systems.

Main Responsibilities:

The role is for a Pipe/Plant fitter with knowledge of the installation of S/S C/S PVC and MDPE pipelines, Pumps, and Mechanical services. The role will include technical and mechanical support and hands-on fault finding for installation projects primarily for Pump Installations. On-site organising and support with projects with the Manager from quotation to completion.

Skills needed:

– Mechanical support of installations in a Commercial and Domestic environment.

– Servicing, fault diagnosis, maintenance and responding to breakdowns with clean and dirty water systems.

-TIG and MMA Pipe welding to a good standard on SS and CS pipelines.

– Ability to read Layout and P&ID drawings and understand control equipment.

– Provide support on technical issues for customers and staff.

– Work to recognised industry standards at all times.

– To assist other trades as/when required.

– Site manage and support projects from start to finish.

– Ensure all paperwork for project is kept up to date.

– Support the Manager with any duties required.

– Responsible for weekend/evening emergency callouts on rota with other engineers.

– Good working Knowledge of Lifting operations. (Desirable)

– Working Knowledge of pipework installations and pumps (Essential).

Training/Qualifications needed to undertake role:

– Qualified to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent Inst. Plant & Systems Pipework, CSCS, Minimum 2 years’ experience.

Further Job Information:

– Standard 39hr week with a 30 minute unpaid lunch break each day

– Overtime applicable as required

– Possible stay away on occasion

– Pay to be discussed at interview stage – dependant on qualifications and experience
