Physiotherapy Technical Instructor

This is an excellent opportunity to develop your skills within a multidisciplinary team.
You will be working on the Cardiology wards with patientsproviding Physiotherapy interventions to patients following cardiology procedures or living with cardiology conditions, providing interventions in line with agreed protocols.You will be working alongside Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists,delivering safe and effective, quality treatments including the assessment, and discharge of patients.
You will need to have experience working within a health care setting and ideally worked as a therapy assistant. You must have a clear understanding of the role of Physiotherapy.
You will receive comprehensive trust and service induction, regular supervision and annual appraisal and a training programme to support your development.
We have a well-established in-service training programme and a commitment to continuing professional development
This post requires a high level of personal responsibility and therefore we are looking for a person with a mature outlook, good communication skills, organisational skills and an ability to use their initiative. You will need to be motivated, organised and able to work on your own initiative and as part of a team. You will need to have had experience of working with a variety of different people. The ability to use computers is desirable in this post, as some administrative and clerical duties are involved
Post holders will work their core hours Monday to Friday but will also be required to work weekends and Bank Holidays on a roster system.

• Physiotherapy provides key therapeutic assessments and interventions to patients in order to promote independence and facilitate optimum function for individuals working with patients, families and carers and the multi-disciplinary team to achieve agreed outcomes for patients.
• The Technical Instructor will contribute to the provision of Physiotherapy within a specified clinical area. This includes identified clinical, administrative and educational roles.
• To carry a clinical caseload which has been discussed and delegated to them by the relevant team member who has delegation responsibilities for this task.
• To work to Therapy and UHL Service priorities.
• To work with patients, carers and their families in a sensitive and professional manner.
• To liaise with other professionals for the benefit of the patient.
• To work with and support those who may have complex needs including physical, psychological and communication difficulties
