Summary
Personal assistant required for an eleven-year-old autistic boy with ADHD who lives in St Ives.
He is seeking someone with whom he can build a positive relationship and who can provide him with 1:1 support and 2:1 support, alongside his parent.
A personal assistant would enable him to safely explore the local community with a trusted adult and help him to practice life skills, such as money handling.
He loves basketball, American food, American culture, Japanese food, Japanese culture, computer games, and music.
He also loves swimming and is confident going in the sea.
The rate of pay is £12.00 per hour, plus mileage and expenses.
A full driving licence and access to a personal vehicle are desirable but not essential.
Seven hours per week are available, and this is flexible.
Some knowledge or personal experience of working with young people with special educational needs is essential.
The successful applicant will be employed under a private arrangement with the family. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
All offers of employment are subject to the successful candidate undergoing an enhanced DBS check, which will be facilitated by Cornwall Council.
