Summary

The General Manager oversees all operations of Performance Health & Fitness. This position is responsible for the creation, development, implementation, and supervision of all procedures, regulations, rules, protocols, programs, activities, promotions, guidelines, and policies.

Key Responsibilities:
Driving Sales and New Membership Activity
• Develop and execute innovative sales and marketing strategies to attract new members.
• Drive member engagement initiatives to maintain member retention.
• Organize community outreach programs to enhance brand reputation and loyalty
• Promote activities and programs to cater the needs of the clubs members.
• Improve Fitness Programs (monitoring and report the popularity of each fitness program)
• Set and maintain all club targets & KPI’s.

Management Reporting and CRM
• Ensure all emails are replied to on the day, otherwise the next working day.
• Create a Monthly Sales and Marketing plan. Report on any rising fitness trends that can back up the marketing strategies and activities on the MSP.
• Analyse sales performance metrics and financial reports to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Maintain strong relationships with vendors, partners, and stakeholders to support business growth and expansion.
• Staff monitoring reports on CRM activity.
• Report on leavers each month and highlight the main reasons behind the cancellations.

Staffing - Management and development of the team
• Confirm that all members of staff are qualified in the jobs they’re employed in.
• Train, coach and develop the team to the highest level. Set high standards for staff Performance
• Be responsible for overseeing staff performance and ensuring duties are being completed.
• Ensure disciplinary action is carried out whenever necessary.
• Staff recruitment.
• Complete a monthly rota
• Foster a culture of excellence, teamwork, and continuous improvement among staff members.
• Ensure all qualified staff have a strong background knowledge of gym equipment and services offered with the associated pricing.
Creating and maintaining an amazing membership community ensuring retention
• Provide excellent customer care and would do anything to avoid losing existing clients.
• Deal with the complaints, accidents and emergencies that come up.
• Deliver fitness training to maintain your communication with the members.
• Update all notes in Elan regarding cancellations.
• Send monthly newsletters to all members
Ensuring health and safety procedures are always followed
• Check the health and safety of the equipment used in gym and you need to inform the franchisee about any faults and repairs.
• You need to ensure the machines are cleaned every day according to the cleaning rota.
• Carrying out health and safety checks on all other areas of the gym.
• Update H&S systems daily with all daily, weekly, monthly and annual checks.

Qualifications:
• Level 3 Fitness Instructor (Desirable bachelor’s degree in business management or sports science)
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in gym management or fitness
industry leadership roles.
• Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving revenue growth.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• In-depth knowledge of fitness industry trends, best practices, and customer preferences.
• CPR and First Aid certification.
