Summary
Ampgreen Estates Limited is the owner and operator of one of the largest Anaerobic Digesters in the UK which produces green electricity and gas for the National Grid using organic matter from crops.
We are offering a long-term permanent role to a candidate who is passionate about renewable energy and the sustainability of energy production in the UK.
We are looking for site operative who will be flexible in their approach and is keen to learn more about the workings of the AD plant and the wider estate. In this role you will principally be based out of the site in Penrith but must be flexible with getting involved in a range of other agricultural activities across the estate.
The role will involve a rotating shift pattern working dayshift, evenings and nightshift.
After completing training, the role involves taking responsibility for the operation and cleanliness of the site. A significant part of this role is lone working, and the successful candidate will be motivated and driven to work and overcome challenges unsupervised.
Completing daily checks of the plant and equipment.
Ensuring all light maintenance is completed and recorded.
Keeping the site clean and tidy as you work and reporting any health and safety issues.
Maintaining and recording supplies on site.
Communicating with the management team to share knowledge and help problem solving.
Using Plant equipment to feed hoppers.
Carry out weighbridge and crop acceptance duties.
Perform preventative maintenance on equipment (greasing, cleaning etc).
Safely and effectively monitor the operation of the process.
Identify process issues & seek assistance from Engineers.
Provide assistance and supervise contractors working on site.
Take samples for analysis as required.
Ensure downtime is limited and plant is running efficiently at all times.
Implement the Company's Health & Safety procedures.
Qualifications and Skills
Must be able to work outside
Must use own initiative
Ability to work with computers and technology
Maintenance experience preferred but not essential
Plant Operating experience preferred but not essential
Must have transferable skills
The following skills and experience are essential:
Telehandler driving experience
Full training in the form of an individual training plan will be provided.
