£Six Figure Salary + Benefits

Head of Midmarket Underwriting

Manchester

We are working with a Global Insurer with A+ rated paper who are in growth mode with a new office opening in Manchester. This is a role where you will get lots of exposure to brokers and new business as the plan is for the portfolio to double in size over the next twelve months within their SME/Midmarket division.

A large part of the role will be focusing on growing a profitable book of business across the Northwest as well as building an underwriting team in Manchester which you will lead. This role will suit an individual who enjoys being a leader as well as someone that can bring fresh ideas to the underwriting team by executing new business strategies.

You will underwrite a combination of commercial combined and standalone Property or Casualty risks across a number of industry practices for premiums ranging between £25k and £1m (average £100k).

We are happy to look at combined or mono line P&C underwriters from the regions, as well as those who are currently in a SME portfolio looking to deal with higher value risks
