Summary


We are looking for a highly organised medical support secretary, with previous experience in a similar setting to undertake this challenging role within the Gynaecology Service, based at the Royal Bolton Hospital. You will work alongside our current women's health administration team to carry out clinical correspondence typing, co-ordination of patient’s case notes/test results, appointments and telephone messages, amongst other general office duties.

Candidates should be articulate, capable of undertaking a demanding workload and able to demonstrate a significant level of initiative. Candidates should possess advanced keyboard skills, including GCSE English Language and Mathematics Grade C or above.


You must be able to demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to prioritise workload and be able to work with little or no supervision. You should be able to integrate well with the existing team and have a genuine desire to provide a quality service to all patients and knowledge of the NHS are desirable.
• Typing of day-to-day correspondence on behalf of the medics/nurses.
• To provide the secretarial support to clinics and meetings including creating and distributing lists and collection and filing of medical records.
• Ensuring investigation results are available as required.
• Use relevant IT systems and databases.
• Respond to telephone queries.
