About the Role

Base Location: Flexible, however our preference is that you will be based in one of our key UK sites, which includes but is not limited to:- Glasgow, Perth, Aberdeen, Inverness or Reading

Salary: £38,700 - £58,100 + car allowance + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

Working Pattern: 12 Month Fixed Term Contract | Full Time | Flexible First options available

This is a fantastic 12 month fixed term opportunity where you'll be part of the SSE Renewables Offshore Sustainability Team, supporting 2 offshore Wind projects which are currently in development stage. Your primary responsibilities will include monitoring and reporting on compliance obligations and commitments against project licences and consents, as well as:

- Supporting the implementation of SSER's strategic sustainability goals and action plans, including identifying project level opportunities to implement sustainable solutions.

- Managing environmental surveying and monitoring work, associated contracts and contractors, providing input to the tender process and evaluating contractor risk assessments and reports.

- Liaising with the Consents Teams to ensure licensed activities are undertaken in line with industry best practice and consents conditions.

- Coordinating with SSER's broader Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), such as climate, carbon, social, supply chain and sustainable infrastructure, ensuring all aspects of sustainability are integrated into the project.

- Reviewing and contributing to the Environmental Management Plans and preparing and/or reviewing other relevant plans (Wildlife Procedures etc.).

What do I need?

You do not need a background in Renewables to be considered for this role. As long as you have transferable skills, we welcome your application.

We would love you to have the following;

- Experience in Environmental Management, accompanied by a broad knowledge of environmental legislation and policies, and sustainability practices.

- A background working with large offshore projects, including contractor management.

- The ability and passion for driving collaboration and promoting inclusive working practices.

- A strong capacity to engage in instantaneous decision-making while accounting for obstacles arising during project development and construction, and a knowledge of budget management.

- Expertise in acting as the point of contact for various stakeholders such as Regulatory bodies and cross-functional teams, and advocating the adherence to environmental best practice.
