Summary

Applications are invited for a Data Manager to join the CRUK Cambridge Centre Urological Malignancies Virtual Institute (UMVI) on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus, a multi-disciplinary research team focused on translational research in renal and prostate cancer.

The UMVI is seeking to recruit a full time Data Manager for the ARTIST Kidney Cancer study. This is an exciting opportunity for a Data Manager to join the ARTIST translational science study, which collects tissue, samples, medical imaging and data from patients to further the Urological Malignancies basic and translational science activities. The post holder will work closely with the principal investigator, other data scientists, the sample handling team, and laboratory staff.

Applicants should be educated to degree level or equivalent and have experience of data collection in an NHS clinical setting. Knowledge of and familiarity with database software, encryption and data protection systems for clinical studies is required. Strong IT skills, particularly in MS Office and online databases are also required. Well-developed organisational skills, including the ability to pay close attention to details and to work to tight deadlines are essential.

Informal enquiries may be made to Dr James Jones, Email: joj21@cam.ac.uk

Fixed-term: The funding supporting this position is available for 12 months (full time) in the first instance. Applicants wishing to work part time are also invited to apply, in which case funding would extend beyond 12 months (to be negotiated on a case by case basis).

Once an offer of employment has been accepted, the successful candidate will be required to undergo an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check. This appointment also requires a Research Passport application.

We welcome applications from individuals who wish to be considered for part-time working or other flexible working arrangements.

Please ensure that you upload a covering letter and CV in the Upload section of the online application. The covering letter should outline how you match the criteria for the post and why you are applying for this role. If you upload any additional documents which have not been requested, we will not be able to consider these as part of your application.

Please include details of your referees, including email address and phone number, one of which must be your most recent line manager.
