Exciting opportunity working in the Lloyds Insurance Company (UK Branch) primarily providing support and assisting with the oversight of underwriting activities of the 300 seconded underwriters from across the market underwriting European risks across all classes of business via this platform.

As part of the Underwriting Oversight team you will have full visibility on the pre-bind and post-bind activities of the underwriters who are seconded to the LIC UK Branch and also on the syndicate activities alongside that. You will forge relationships and engage with the underwriters, to log and track information to help ensure control measures are being met.

Highly organised, with strong communication and data collation skills you will enjoy supporting senior stakeholders as part of a collaborative market engaging team. Around 80% of the role is supporting this unique European underwriting facility and the other 20% will be supporting market development activities, co-ordinating market events, drafting and circulating information to market participants and learning to seek and support strategic development opportunities.


Major Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
UNDERWRITING

Contributing towards smooth running of:

• Underwriting authority and other control documentation issuance

• Assisting with queries relating to on and offboarding of seconded underwriters

• Assisting with the triage/management of live underwriting issues & queries

• Logistical assistance around compliant trading solutions across the European market

• Manage logistics of underwriting file reviews and audits, including the performance of baseline underwriting checks if and when required

• Support secondee-facing engagement activities (communications, townhall meetings etc)

• Support underwriting incident management

• Assist with data preparation and administration for internal control meetings around the underwriting activity, including minute-taking and tracking actions

MARKET DEVELOPMENT

Supporting the Senior Market Development Manager with:

• Quarterly Townhall logistics & support

• Support for market development initiatives and engaging with the European network as appropriate

• Assist with administration around market engagement/discussions with underwriters regarding underwriting appetite and strategic development, including tracking and following up on actions


Can you build and maintain professional and productive relationships internally and externally with key decision-makers?

Do you have experience working within underwriting, claims, operations or governance in the insurance or reinsurance market and have good analytical capabilities (Excel / Qlik Sense or similar)?
