Your new company
A leading Lloyds Syndicate, based in the heart of the City, are looking to recruit an Underwriting Assistant / Analyst to assist with the unprecedented portfolio growth this business has seen in the last few years.You will be joining a small team, which means you will enjoy wider authority, including deputising for the Underwriting Manager across a range of responsibilities. You will typically be responsible for underwriter support with a main focus on the data aspect of the role.
Your new role
Underwriter Support:
- Collect and analyse data to assist with underwriting new products and risks.
- Coordinate with underwriting team members to ensure information availability.
- Aid in improving pricing models and tools.
- Assist underwriters with new account underwriting.
- Liaise with brokers, clients, and other business functions.
Portfolio Management Support:
- Monitor aggregate exposure and regulatory returns.
- Assist with data collation for reinsurance (RI) programs.
Data Capture Support:
- Manage data capture, cleansing, and accuracy for Binding Authority, Lineslips, and Treaty.
- Gradually digitise data from clients.
- Onboard new clients and migrate existing ones.
- Create and maintain Bordereaux Monitoring Tools.
Performance Analysis Support:
- Generate insightful reports and dashboards.
- Monitor clients' underwriting performance against plans.
- Track paid vs. expected premiums.
- Prepare regular and ad hoc reports for business planning.
What you'll need to succeed
- Keen interest in data, manipulating figures and creating MI reports
- Willingness to study towards professional qualification (CII) is preferred
- IT literate; Excel skills a requisite, with a natural ability to pick up new systems quickly
- Knowledge of Power BI
