Applications are invited for an exciting opportunity to work in the new Cambridge Movement Surgical Hub as a Clinical Fellow (Core) within the department of Trauma and Orthopaedics.

These posts will be available from 07 August 2024 for a period of 12 months.

The main duties of the role are to provide clinical care within the new Cambridge Movement Surgical Hub (CMSH) to the ward-based patients within the unit who are undergoing or recovering from elective surgery. This will include High Volume Low Complexity (HVLC) pathway driven care (See GIRFT) and related innovation and audit.

This post is ideally suited to ‘Core Trainee’ level doctors. The new CMSH has provided an opportunity to develop a new role that will provide 24/7 clinical ward-based cover to the new unit but which will also provide time within the role for additional supernumerary clinical experience.

Another feature of the role is protected time that will allow the applicant to pursue an interest in teaching and/or research.

Full Registration and a Licence to Practice with the General Medical Council at time of application is required.

The applicant must have demonstrable skills in listening, reading, writing and speaking in English that enable effective communication about medical topics with patients and colleagues, as set out in the GMC’s Good Medical Practice (2013). Non-UK applicants must possess the IELTS/OET exam before obtaining a GMC licence to practice.
